Ages & Stages Developmental Screening
Ages & Stages Developmental Screening
Do you want to support your child's development in one of the best possible ways? Keep a record of your baby's unique progress, with an online baby book of science-based developmental screenings.
It’s easy, inexpensive, informative, reassuring and helpful.
Here’s how it works:
-You complete an online questionnaire designed for your child’s developmental stage, from birth to five years.
-Our developmental specialist reviews the completed questionnaire and notifies you if further assessment is needed.
-We provide you with learning activities to share with your child, tailored for his or her specific developmental stage.
-You receive a page summarizing the results of the screening, which you can place in your child’s baby book and share with his or her pediatrician.
Every baby develops at his or her own pace, yet milestones are predictable. There are usually clear signs that baby’s development is on track or that extra support is needed, IF you know what to look for. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends regular developmental screenings, but many pediatrician’s offices lack the time or trained staff to conduct such screenings.
Your own observations and awareness of baby's emerging skills and needs are the best place to start in tracking your child’s development – after all, you know your baby better than anyone else. And your interactions with baby are the most important factor in supporting baby’s healthy development.
The Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ-3 and ASQ-SE) assess baby's communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem-solving, personal-social, and social and emotional development. These parent-completed questionnaires are automatically scored for you and stored online so you can access them whenever needed.
Most parents enjoy completing these surveys. You may be surprised to see that baby can do some things you hadn’t even noticed, once the questionnaire turns your attention to these details. For instance, did you realize that your baby had learned to recognize her own name and turns her head when called?. That’s a big developmental step that usually happens by 9 – 12 months, but many parents take it for granted.
Try an ASQ-3 survey today, and consider signing up for a full package to follow your baby’s development over the next few years! Once you’ve registered, we will send an email reminder to let you know when it’s time for the next screening.
