Samantha Snowden
Samantha Snowden is a mindfulness teacher at UCLA Family Commons. She has her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UCLA and her Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from Columbia University. While at Columbia, Samantha taught graduate-level courses on Mindfulness-Based Interventions with Children and conducted research related to mindfulness in schools. She has mentored, counseled and taught mindfulness both within local community centers and schools as well as abroad, most recently in Peru.
She enjoys working with children and teens, providing tools and compassion through transitions in the developmental process. Recently, Samantha has started Salsa dancing, and she can’t wait to start playing soccer on a regular basis. Although organization and procrastination continue to be challenges in her life, Samantha views these tendencies with compassion and seeks fresh approaches to transform such habits. She is enjoying the inspired optimism and creative outlook she embodies lately. Samantha enjoys using her guitar as a meditation object and hosting dinner parties where she coerces all guests into playing mindfulness games. Currently, Samantha is working on living sustainably and following her intuition.
