Marvin G. Belzer, Ph.D.
Marvin Belzer is a Mindfulness Instructor at The UCLA Family Commons and the UCLA Mindful Awareness Research Center. He has been a teacher of meditation and mindful awareness for over 15 years, offering instruction to youth, adolescents, and adults. Marv has spent many years exploring how to bring mindfulness into the classroom and other venues. For the last ten years, he has taught a semester-long meditation course at Bowling Green State University, where he is a professor of philosophy. In his free time Marv is learning salsa dancing, which he finds both fun and challenging. Like many of us, he feels like he spends more time than he’d really like to on the internet, and he suspects he might have been better off not having discovered there are billions of new sudoku puzzles available online. He’s hoping to get more sensible about that habit soon. But he’s made his peace with the fact that he’ll always be a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He’s not sure why he stores all those batting averages in his head, but you know who to look for if you find yourself in need of some Cardinals’ stats.
